Personal Luxury

Luxury means something different to everyone.  For some, it's a diamond-ring.  For others, a hot cup of coffee.  For me, it's free time.

My work is hard and demanding.  Apart from stress, the worst part of it is the lack of free time.  It's rare I can carve out a few hours for myself.

Today, unexpectedly, I had that time.  So, even though I didn't plan anything, I went to my favorite activity.  Can you guess what it is?  And, if you can, can you guess my favorite color?  :)

Let me share my experience with you...

This was more about having fun than cutting-edge fashion.  I know I'm in the beginner-class and don't have delusions of competence.  It was just fun to play with clothes and colors and textures and stockings and ballet-flats and lipstick...

  1. I love that you chose to do a photoshoot in your unexpected free time. And the outcome is great. Nice mix of bright colours and the shoes are really cute. I love how happy you look in these shots.

I hear you on the free time. It definitely is the ultimate luxury. I've just had two days of doing my own thing and it's been so much fun.

  2. I'm not getting much free time at the moment. I only work three days a week but the other four seem to getted filled up very quickly. Enjoying what you get is definitely the way to go and as Emma said you look very happy in your pinks.

  3. I'm retired so everyday is a holiday:) Perhaps pink is your favorite color? My favorite one is RED. Very nice pictures and the pink color definitely suits you. I like fashion and makeup but I don't really have any sense of style. I'm more of a cook. Following you from Trapani, Sicily!

  7. Let me guess- fave activity blogging and dressing up and fave colour pink- am I right? ;) I really love the outfit in the third photo- the light pinks and the dark pinks look great together! (that's one problem with being a redhead, I don't look great in pink!)

  9. I'm curious what size shoes you wear. I came across a stash of brand new ones in a thrift store yesterday...and oddly, thought of you!

  16. ***GASP*** PINK!!! Oh, I love this pink overload. Those ballerina flats are to die for. You are too adorable.

One colour I love mixing in with pink is orange. I know, it sounds silly but if you do it right (sometimes toning it down with white/cremes) it just looks amazing. Apparently it's also the "thing" to do for spring... mixing up super bright colours.

  17. Dressing up when you're at home is one of the great-small luxuries. My sisters and I used to do it occasionally, usually combined with dancing in the living room!

  18. You look like candy! So bright and fun! Love it, I'm hoping it will help push spring into NYS.

The discussion of color-mixing brought to mind the sherbert I was eating the other day. Oddly enough, my favorite is a 3-flavor one in pints... Walgreen's brand.

It's orange, lime, and raspberry. Now I'm wondering whether I should get the stuff to combine those colors myself... or just try to live vicariously through you?
